What is Cellulite and Why Does It Form?

Cellulite is the bumpy appearance on the surface of the skin that results from fat cells beneath the skin pressing against the connective tissue. This occurs when fat cells enlarge and the fibers under the skin stretch. Age, genetic factors, hormonal changes, and lifestyle are the primary determinants of this process.

Why Does Cellulite Reappear?

Cellulite can have a "chronic" nature because the factors that cause its formation (diet, inactivity, hormonal structure) continue throughout life. If only superficial treatment is applied and the root causes of cellulite, such as circulatory disorders, edema, or unhealthy eating habits, are not addressed, fat cells will expand again, bringing back that familiar appearance.
